ELEVATOR PITCH
I would like to see a proper voice for non profits, that allows city officials to hear the needs and concerns of this sector.
THE REST OF THE STORY
I would like to see more opportunity for conversation between non profits and city government. More opportunities to get help and resources that non profits need to make things happen around the city. It would be a great idea to put a liaison in City Hall that represent non profits and brings their issues to the table, help create solutions and involve and inform those working for our city. Basically a Transparency between the two and open doors to work together to solve problems instead of playing the blame game and just talking about the problems.

One key problem in city government is the LACK OF INFORMATION. The lack of us giving them information and they giving us information, there needs to be small steps to help work on this gap in the information cycle.

Shercole, isnt there something like this out there? An official city position in the department of economic development?

Actually, what the non profit community has found is there is lack of interaction between the two. Unified Non Profits is currently looking to work with City Council to create such a liaison position that directly draws back to the non profit community.
